Look like a Social Media Pro by using Correct Typography.

Look like a pro
Use correct typographic symbols when posting to Facebook and/or when Blogging.
  1. Use a straight apostrophe ( ' ) when using measurements.
  2. Use curly apostrophes ( “ ” , ‘ ’ ) for everything other than measurement.
  3. Use ’til, not ‘til.
  4. Use hyphens ( - ) to combine two words (like “pixel-jockey”) and for line breaks (when a word gets split across two lines of text.
  5. Use En Dashes ( – ) to substitute for the word to, as in “Chapters 1–4” or “8:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m.”
  6. Use Em Dash (—) sparingly in formal writing. They may replace commas, semicolons, colons, and parentheses to indicate added emphasis, an interruption, or an abrupt change of thought.
  7. Properly space your ellipses (…).

  1. ( ' ) use the basic ' sign. (") use the basic shift + ' sign.
  2. (“ ”) use option + [ and option + shift + [ .  (‘ ’) use option + ] and option + shift +] 
  3. (’til) use option + shift + ] .
  4. (-) Use basic - key (found next to the + key)
  5. (–) Use option + - key.
  6. (—) Use option + shift + - key.
  7. (…) Use option + ; key.

You might want to make a cheat sheet and post it next to your computer. I know I will.
